One of the highlights of this month was our Grade 9 students leading the school’s Sports Day! 🎉
As part of their journey as IB learners, the Grade 9 cohort took the initiative to plan and host the entire event under the guidance of the PHE teacher's. From organizing activities to ensuring everything ran smoothly, they demonstrated outstanding leadership, teamwork, and responsibility.
The day truly showcased what students can achieve with the right support, while also allowing them to recognize their strengths and grow in confidence. Most importantly, they ensured that the event was fun, inclusive, and safe for all participants.
A fantastic effort by our Grade 9s, well done! 👏

Compassionate Cooking: foster the spirit of compassion and teamwork - Kru Mo
Cooking holds deep value and offers rich, engaging learning experiences for students, especially when it is rooted in compassion and teamwork.
On Thursday 26, February, in the middle of the second semester, the 14 students from the G6 and G7 Cooking teams had a chance to relax and cool down with their homeroom teachers, Teacher Pakin and Teacher Parkash. Throughout the semester, they had practiced a service-minded approach by designing healthy, delicious menus and cooking for their classmates, always trying to cook with heart and serve with care. Now, it was their turn to receive that same spirit of care and service from others. Kru Mo (Sunisa, the school director) invited them to a semi-formal lunch.
In keeping with our kitchen’s slogan, “Compassionate Cooking: Cook with heart, serve with care. We are team players," this lunch was a gesture of gratitude for their commitment to cooking 11 times (including 2 sessions for the introduction class and 9 sessions for actual preparation) for their friends and a way to celebrate "Compassionate Cooking" as a shared team spirit.
Beyond cooking, they also learned about table manners and eating etiquette, which are important parts of culture. This time, we gave them a Western lunch dining experience, where each course was served and enjoyed in a proper sequence, allowing them to feel what it is like to be warmly cared for at the table. The meal began with a cocktail-style reception where they could walk around, pick up small bites, and chat with friends. After that, they moved to their assigned seats, looked at the menu, and placed their orders with our special serving team, parents, and senior teachers, who kindly took orders and served the meal.
They also practiced appropriate dress, proper posture at the table, ordering food, following the sequence of courses, using eating utensils correctly, and enjoying a meal politely in a formal dining setting. Most importantly, through this shared meal, they experienced how caring for others and being cared for in return can turn cooking into a compassionate community of learning, where everyone cooks with heart, serves with care, and grows together as true team players.

Words fall short in capturing the incredible journey our RA/RAIS swimmers have undertaken this year. It has been a season of highs and lows, of relentless challenges and defining moments, but through it all, our swimmers, alongside their families, have shown remarkable resilience, composure, and unity.
This team has proudly represented us on the international stage, competing in three major events and delivering outstanding performances. Each race, each effort, and each milestone has been a testament to their hard work, courage, and unwavering belief in one another.
The support from parents has been nothing short of extraordinary. Through every triumph and every setback, their encouragement has been a constant force behind the team’s growth and success.
What we are witnessing is more than progress; it is transformation. This team has evolved, matured, and risen to the occasion time and time again, proving that they belong on the big stage.
As the academic year draws to a close, one thing is certain: this is only the beginning. Our swimmers are not just improving; they are building momentum. With continued guidance and the same relentless spirit, they are destined to achieve even greater heights.

YSLCMUN III - BISAL MUN @ Roong-Aroon International School
Last Saturday, our campus became a hub of diplomacy, debate, and global thinking as we hosted our YSLCMUN III - BISAL MUN.
Delegates didn’t just deliver speeches; they negotiated, amended resolutions, built alliances, and adapted under pressure. They learned quickly that real leadership isn’t about speaking the loudest, but about listening carefully, thinking strategically, and collaborating effectively.
Throughout the day we saw:
• Confident public speaking
• Critical thinking in action
• Respectful disagreement
• Professionalism under pressure
A huge thank you to our student executive team, chairs, staff, and visiting schools for raising the standard and making the event such a success.
The conference may be over but the skills developed here will last far beyond the committee room.

RAIS International Day
"One World, Shared Challenges"
International Day will move beyond cultural celebration to focus on global citizenship, systems thinking, and collective problem-solving. Students will work within their houses to analyse a major world issue, propose realistic solutions, and present their thinking in a structured, time-bound format.
Reflection from Grade 10, RAIS Newsletter:
This year's International Day was redesigned to be clearly different from previous years. Instead of students presenting individual countries, the focus shifted to global perspectives by exploring World Issues under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), promoting international-mindedness.
In this activity, students went beyond memorizing information by analyzing issues and designing creative, realistic solutions. Through teamwork and the exchange of diverse perspectives, they gained deeper insight into how global issues connect to their own contexts.
To increase excitement, the event was held as a competition among four houses—Earth, Water, Air, and Fire. Teams presented creative SDG-based solutions, judged on creativity, presentation, participation, and the clarity, practicality, and effectiveness of their ideas, while promoting teamwork, critical thinking, and real-world application.
An example of an interesting topic is "Sustainable Cities and Communities," which highlights the problem of major cities—such as Bangkok—being at risk of flooding due to global climate change. The water house group proposed the idea of a floating city. Although this concept may seem difficult to realize in practice, it helped students recognize that the possibility of large cities like Bangkok being submerged underwater in the future is not insignificant.

Our Grade 6 students recently completed a three-day residential field study in Petchburi on February 4th-6th, 2026, focusing on their Science unit on ecosystems.
Through experiential learning, students assessed water quality by collecting and identifying benthic macroinvertebrates across four distinct sites: Petchburi old market, Petch Dam, Baan Krang Camp, and Kaeng Krachan reservoir. Each site showcases different levels of human effect and water quality.
At the sites, the students enhanced their data collecting, sorting, and identifying skills while using their knowledge to determine the water quality at each site based on their findings, testing their hypothesis, and presenting their results to their peers.
It was a hands-on journey of discovery, teamwork, and mindful reflection. Our students developed critical thinking and environmental awareness.

YSLCMUN III BISAL Model United Nations at Roong-Aroon International School
We are delighted to introduce our upcoming Model United Nations (MUN) conference on Saturday 21st February. It promises to be a meaningful learning experience inspired by the work of the United Nations and designed especially for our children.
MUN is more than a debate club. It is a chance for students to build confidence, practice respectful communication, and develop the research and critical-thinking skills they need for university and beyond. Delegates will learn to listen carefully, speak thoughtfully, and collaborate with peers while exploring real-world issues that shape our global community.
Preparing for MUN encourages responsibility, co-operation, and empathy; qualities we value deeply at Roong-Aroon International School. Students learn that diplomacy starts with understanding others, and that their voices can make a difference.
We look forward to sharing this inspiring experience with our students and families, and to celebrating the curiosity, courage, and compassion that make our school community so special.

Walk for Peace
This is a song inspired by a true event — a group of Buddhist monks who embarked on a walking pilgrimage for peace, covering a distance of over 3,700 kilometers from Fort Worth, Texas, heading toward Washington, D.C., United States.
This walk carried no political agenda. It made no demands through shouting. Instead, it chose to communicate through mindful walking, breath, and stillness.
Along the way, the monks passed through cities, villages, roads, and the gazes of countless people — all to deliver a single message: peace, loving-kindness, compassion, and nonviolent coexistence, in a world aflame with the fires of conflict and war.
One of the most meaningful symbols of this journey was Aloka — a stray dog who walked alongside the monks. Though unable to speak, his unwavering companionship reflected the meaning of “metta” (loving-kindness) more clearly than any words ever could.
This song, therefore, does not merely tell the story of a long journey. It tells the story of an inner journey — one that begins with a small step, with mindfulness, with a breath, and with the choice of gentleness in a world filled with violence.
3,700 kilometers may seem too far for anyone to walk. But peace… can begin with a single step, within our own hearts.

What an incredible weekend of hoops! 🏀 Our U15 Boys and Girls gave it their all at the BISAL U15 Tournament, and we couldn't be prouder of their performance on the court.
The Boys started with absolute dominance, playing with fire and skill to secure a fantastic 2nd place finish! 🥈 While they fell just short of the top spot, their grit was undeniable.
Equally inspiring was our Girls’ team. 🌟 Beyond the scoreboard, the way these athletes support, encourage, and lift each other up is truly admirable. There is so much untapped potential in our program, and seeing their growth proves they deserve every opportunity to showcase their talent.
The future of basketball at our school is bright! Great job, teams!

Our U13 Basketball team left everything on the court this past Saturday at the BISAL U13 tournament at SISB Nonthaburi. Facing opponents twice their size, our team never backed down, proving that true champions are defined by their spirit, not just the scoreboard. While a few narrow losses placed us in 6th, their sheer dedication against formidable teams was inspiring. We couldn’t be prouder of their "never-give-up" attitude!

Competing at ISB against 8 other top schools in Bangkok, our girls showed incredible resilience. Even when late rule changes forced us to shuffle our doubles pairings, they didn't skip a beat, securing a hard-fought 2nd place finish! 🥈
The teamwork and camaraderie displayed by these young athletes truly showcase their character. The sky is the limit for this group, and we can’t wait to see where they go next! Let's Go Lions! 🦁✨
