Career-related Programme
Grades 11 – 12

The Career-related Programme requires the study of at least two Diploma Programme courses,
the Career-related Programme Core and a Career-Related Study course.

Schools have the flexibility to adapt the curriculum framework to meet local, and national needs.
The distinct advantage of the Career-related Programme is that schools can adapt the framework to meet local, regional or national education requirements, as well as address industry and government priorities.

Benefits of IB-CP Programmes
The Career-related Programme helps students to:

  1. Develop a broad range of skills and competencies to be used in personal and professional settings through the study of IB-CP core
  2. Develop deeper conceptual understanding in specific areas of knowledge through the  study of Diploma subjects.
  3. Have the opportunity to study the career pathway based on their interests and demeanor through the study of the Career-related course track.
  4. Develop a broad range of skills which enable them to become life-long learners.

The International Baccalaureate allows schools to build their own distinctive version of the CP based on the requirements of their student community and local contexts. Schools need to assess the local, regional and national education requirements when designing the CP curriculum based on the CP-curriculum framework. The needs of the industry must also be considered in the curriculum design.
